I stepped into the building, which looked a little different since it was newly renovated last year.

The familiar air con smell hit me, used to get a whiff of it all the time back in the day of twice a week classes. The scenes where fellow ‘chers rushed past me with packets of food, so that their tummies wouldn’t rumble embarrassingly during lessons. Some looking flustered, coming in with files and assignments to pass up. People standing around with cups of coffee and biscuits in hand during breaks. Lecturers trying their best to answer tons of qns. Hustle bustle, hustle bustle.

Hello SEED. My old place of study, we meet again. Like an old friend, you have been missed. But I must say, you’re looking quite nice with your new coats of paint, walls and new rooms equipped with the neccesary tech. Everything physical is different, but the atmosphere is still the same. New batches of ‘chers to fill up the rooms, new hope in gaining knowledge.

As I gathered my docs for submission, I heard a familiar voice behind me and spotted my literacy lecturer, busy talking to a colleague and walking to the staff room. There might be a possibility that she would be our lecturer! Wow!

But now the waiting begins. And the excitement builds.

How two different events can collide is just beyond me. A mixture of bittersweetness, sadness and rejoicing all at once. It’s a bit too much to handle.

Of degrees and dragons who can’t swim

First day of CNY! Happy CNY to you lovely people :)

According to Chinese belief, it’s the year of the dragon in the chinese zodiac. My dad’s a dragon, he’s been proudly declaring that for years. And he just told us today he’s going to be a 60 year old “water” dragon this year. Mum and I had a good laugh teasing him, cos he’s a water dragon who’s afraid to even go into the pool to swim! haha….say what!

Well, no getting drunk on orange squash and pigging out on bak kwa for me just yet. Currently preparing my 3 page essay for my degree application during this two day break. I remember now when I first blogged here about my diploma days (view under Diploma Days) years ago,and all the old memories started flooding back. Of late nights and great friendships and all that typing and editing and printing. My old faithful friend (Fujitsu laptop) was newly bought then and is still with me right now as I type on her keys. 6 years and still solid :) Hopefully she’ll last another two years to see me through my degree. That’s my girl.
