My turn to do the Sat shift in my school. I used to dread it, even though this is only my 3rd time. I was sore at first that I had to wake up early, on a Sat no less. Sat mornings are my only day to sleep in :)
But I’m starting to look at the positive side of working long hours, doing OT, and even, working on sat. Even though I’m currently battling a bad sore throat and almost losing my voice. Even though I have been sleep deprived these few days because of submission of progress reports for portfolio compilation.
I praise God most of all today, that I could spend time with my colleagues and now best buds, Mel and A. Minus the kids, minus the noise. With a clear mind and determination, we pushed each other on to complete the mountain load of work we had to do. A left early for an appointment and I had Mel for company. We had fun with our usual brainstorming and idea exchange, something that we unconsciously do in our conversations since we both teach the upper Ks. But it’s really interesting to be on the same wavelength. I got to know more about her, and more about the history of my school.
We finally left at 5.30pm, feeling accomplished with having so much time to do and finish up our work. Load off, time to relax and enjoy our Sunday.
Thank God for the time today.
